On the first of July, DatVietVAC was the recipient of a “Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2020” award by HR Asia – Asia’s leading human resources magazine. HR Asia’s “Best Companies to Work for in Asia” award is decided upon by surveying companies belonging to 24 different industries in Asia. The companies are assessed based on their cultural and work environment, personnel policies, commitments and job satisfaction, opportunities for development and growth.
After accepting the award onstage, Ms. Dinh Thi Nam Phuong, Advisor to the CEO, held a short speech on the meaning of the award:
“What constitutes a good company to work for? Is it a good address? It’s probably not. Is it a nice building to work in? Not either. It is the people that makeup whether a place is a good place to work at or not, and at DatVietVAC we’ve managed to build a team that is disciplined, hardworking, and transparent, a team that works together and understands the values of the company and what we stand for.”
Her remarks highlight how a strong organization isn’t constituted solely through hard work. This sentiment mirrors a verse of the poet Che Lan Vien: “Where we stand is just where the land lies, once we depart, the land forms a soul,”. Only when employees connect their hearts with the company will it truly become the best place to work. Only there will we find help amongst each other during trying times, only there will we think of each other as a family, and only there will we come together to support the shared values of the organization as a whole.
Representing the leading media, entertainment and technology group in Vietnam, Nam Phuong takes pride in the qualities that helped DatVietVAC overcome the difficult times of the pandemic and initiate quick reactions to “the new normal.” The group’s greatest achievement during this trying time is the official relaunch of their OTT platform, VieON. Over a record-breaking short timeframe, all members of DatVietVAC, not only of VieON, joined forces to introduce VieON to the public on the fifteenth of June, a product that followed four years of research and development.
VieON’s achievement of reaching the number 1 download slot on both the App Store and Google Play of its relaunch isn’t just temporary success for VieON; it marks the transformation in DatVietVAC’s vision to the digital era. Leaders of the Group have particularly focused on adapting DatVietVAC to the Fourth industrial revolution. Not only does DatVietVAC learn from its members, but the Group also learns from its partners and those surrounding them. Most notably, DatVietVAC teamed up with BCG – Digital Ventures in the development of VieON, creating an environment that fosters learning and intellectual curiosity from leading experts in the world. This foundation positions VieON to surpass all expectations in providing leading world-wide content an have the most complete content library curated for Vietnam.
Ms. Nam Phuong continues to share her thoughts in an interview at the HR Asia awards:
“DatVietVAC is made up of multiple separate operating companies, which makes it even more difficult for collaboration to happen, but it happens, and it’s because people are willing to put their ego aside, to learn from each other and work with each other. We also learn from our partners and other organizations that we work with. Recently, for the launch of our latest digital venture, VieON, we had the chance to work with BCG – Digital Ventures to be able to build our own organization up to international standards, and to launch VieON successfully on the 15th of June.”
