A VIE SHOW – 25 YEARS OF CRAZY – CELEBRATING DATVIETVAC’S 25th BIRTHDAY

On April 20, 2019, DatVietVAC celebrated its 25th anniversary with a colorful party at the White Place Convention Center.

“A Vie Show – 25 Years of Crazy” was celebrated with the participation of more than 100 Presidents and CEOs from domestic and foreign corporations and enterprises: Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang – Chairman, Masan Group; Mr. Tran Thanh Hai – Chairman, Nutifood; Mr. Do Duy Thai – Chairman, Viet Steel; Mr. Don Lam – Founding Partner and CEO, VinaCapital; Mr. Doan Viet Dai Tu – Chairman, Open Asia Group Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung – Chairman and CEO, Ton Dong A; Mr. Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi – President and CEO, Thai Beverage Thailand; Mr. Serge Pun – Chairman, Serge Pun & Associates Group Myanmar; Mr. Roongrote Rangsiyopash – President and CEO, The Siam Cement Group Thailand; Mr. Hiromichi Shinohara – Managing Director, Mori Building Co., Ltd.; Mr. Seah Kian Wee – Managing Director, UOB Venture Management; Mr. Andrew William Khine – Deputy CEO, Forever Group Myanmar; Mr. Alain Cany – Chairman, Jardine Matheson Vietnam… and over 150 leading artists, actors and comedians in Vietnam, including: Artist Truong Giang, Actress Thuy Ngan, Actress Lam Vi Da, Singer Toc Tien, Singer Soobin Hoang Son, Singer On Vinh Quang, Singer Hien Ho, Singer Truc Nhan, Singer Phuong Vy, Singer Ho Trung Dung, Miss Vietnam 2018 Tieu Vy, Top 5 Miss Universe 2018 H’Hen Niê, Miss International Queen 2018 Huong Giang, Second runner up of Miss Vietnam 2016 Thuy Dung, Actress Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, Actress Nha Phuong, Actress Jun Vu … and more than 550 members of DatVietVAC. Together, they let the “Crazy” of A Vie Show burn bright.

The program was designed by a team of more than 50 directors, editors, and producers at DatVietVAC Group and included: 2 art collections, 40 costumes, 20 models, 12 singers, live bands, a 31-person the orchestra, more than 100 dancers and lights to fill the Alpas hall. A Vie Show was the culmination of our goal to host a magnificent evening for all the friends of DatVietVAC.

         If I recall your company was founded back in the early 90s as the first privately held communications and media company in Vietnam and what you’ve achieved since then is quite extraordinary. These days, companies don’t last many years but for you to continue reinventing yourself over these 25 years and become, from what I understand, the largest and most progressive media company with many advisory roles and many products and really a very progressive company in the modern world is quite an extraordinary feat in a country, of course, that’s doing so well. I’m so sorry I can’t be there with you today Thanh to join you at this anniversary but let me just say how proud we are about everything you’ve achieved and how much more you’re going to do. “We have been going for 25 years. Now, this may seem like a very long journey but for those who are creative and who look ahead, like us, the time can fly by. 25 years of DatVietVAC means 25 years of crazy. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, mankind is always crazy but that’s the problem: only crazy people can find the crazy answers to crazy problems. This sort of crazy makes zeroes and heroes, success and failure. DatVietVAC has always chosen CRAZY. It has chosen to be a pioneer, to be reckless and daring. Nobody thought that a TV show could be improvised without a script like ‘Thank God You Are Here’. Nobody thought a reality TV show could let you look at a person and try to determine their gender like ‘Who are they?’.  And nobody thought a quiz show just based on answering quickly could be the top trending show, but we have ‘The Lightning Quiz’ and the ‘The Lightning Quiz Kids’. All these things come from crazy ideas. And you ask if I’m proud to be on that road? I’m more than proud of myself, I’m proud of us, on that road together with DatVietVAC. It might not be the full 25 years, but I contributed my youth to DatVietVAC. In Vietnam, the older generations say ‘if you want to get rich on TV, you need to be ready to risk it for the biscuit’. Happy 25^th birthday DatVietVAC. I love you.”

Through the Nam Phuong Foundation, DatVietVAC can do more than connecting artists with audiences. By building bridges in remote areas, DatVietVAC connects children to their schools and farmers to their fields. This initiative has become part of a reality show: “Building Bridges”.

Ms. Dinh Thi Nam Phuong, Founder of the Nam Phuong Foundation, a CSR branch of DatVietVAC, awarded medals and gifts to :

1. Mr. NGUYEN THANH TRUNG – Chairman and CEO, Ton Dong A for donations of 2.6 billion VND.
2. Mr. TRUONG CONG THANG – President and CEO, Masan Consumer Holdings who has also consistently supported the organization and contributions of up to 2 billion VND.
3. Mr. PHAM TAN NGHIA – Chairman, VUS for donations of 1.2 billion VND.
4. Mr. DON LAM – Founding Partner and CEO, VinaCapital for donations of 1 billion VND.

In addition to the medals, 2 jerseys signed by the Vietnamese U-23 football team was gifted by the singer Le Hieu to the Nam Phuong Foundation. These were presented to Mr. Pham Tan Nghia and Mr. Don Lam.

It has been 25 Years of Crazy; 25 years of pushing boundaries; 25 years of excellence; 25 years without compromise and a desire to reach the extraordinary.

None of this could have been done without the crazy people who chose to follow these dreams at all costs. They make up the DatVietVAC of today; a DatVietVAC that is crazy, but also determined to change the way we think about media and entertainment, one breakthrough after another.
